A good performance by the blues with Pete and Frank starting with wins in the top group was not quite good enough with a 3:3 draw seeing the reds retain the trophy for another year.

The overall record now sees Graham strengthen is proud performance;

Jason delivered another handicap cutting round at Antrobus, but Ade managed to get a good enough round to prevent Jason and Pete from over taking him in the RC table. The full RC table can be seen here. 

John Shearn proves to be the king of the majors with yet another big victory in singles play.

It’s all change at the top of the Ryder Cup as well as the double points moves Pete and Ade in to the top two positions.

It was wet and miserable for the first 9 yesterday in Runcorn but then dried up, the conditions resulted in some high scoring but Ade cleared up winning the competition with an excellent (for the conditions) 34 points and also nearest the pin.  Jason cemented his place at the top of the leader board with another solid second place.

John cut it fine, and not only did he catch up the back group, but surged through the field to score a par round and win by a shot. Jason took a firmer grip on the Ryder Cup league and it looks like golfer of the year is between Ade, Jason and Pete. Oh, and Paul Kelsey got the NTP.

We played for the last time at Eccleston Park today the course was dry but in good condition one week before it closes.

The handicap secretary had a stunning round in stunning weather and romped home to a win

 some of the society looking to see which fish had the ball on the 5th.

Northop had great weather this weekend and the golf was also very close, with lots of people playing to, or slightly better than their handicap. Frank took top spot with a great closing 17 holes, which does his Ryder Cup standing no harm at all. There are currently 6 players within one victory of top spot, and 3 players showing a consistent average score. It could be tight at the end, with Captain’s day being important with the double points.

There is a new master in town. Les broke his major duck and took the 2018 Masters with a masterful round of 69 at Formby Hall. He weaved through the water hazards and the sand traps whilst others paddled. Other notable rounds were from Paul Kelsey who has stormed to the top of the Ryder Cup table. See here for the RC table. Surely Frank Buckley would be at the top if he had played more rounds. It looks ominous for the European Tour stalwarts as new kids Ade and Frank look solid with only a month to go……….
