We had a lot of fun in the morning with a game of Texas scramble with the winning team coming in at 2 under par.

The AGM at lunchtime voted on 2 proposals.

1. To give the remaining societal funds to winners of the doubles match-play competition. Overwhelming defeated 1 for 11 against 1 abstention
2. To put a levy of £10 on the membership at the start of the year. Passed unanimously.

The committee will be reconstructed with Paul Morrissy replacing Pete Sherlock as Captain for the oncoming season.

On a day that started with drizzle and ended in glister, Paul Kelsey played his round of the season and won the day by a huge 5 point margin.

Warm weather and a singles match lead John to a terrific score and a win in the medal competition as well as his match.

Some great scores at Upton with Pete going round in almost par. Others continued the great form they are showing and their handicaps are slowly sneaking down. Graham is still leading the ryder cup table, but Ade and Pete are showing solid form to chase him down.

Frank beat Graham and Paul beat Ray in the golf singles following John’s narrow defeat of Jason last week. Some big four ball match play in the next week, with the show group of Jason and John playing against Pete and Frank. Tickets nearly sold out

A mixed day at Antrobus saw some good and bad scores, and Paul ending up triumphant marking back to back victories.

A hot and sweaty day, was won by Paul Morrisey in a battling and draining game.

After 25 years, the longest serving and 2nd grumpiest member of the golf society has broken his duck and won a major. The giddy winner was Graham Copsey, and well done. A great round on a tough course. 2nd was newbie Colin, and 3rd (or second if you ignore Colin) was Frank who is again the master’s nearly man again.

Only 6 played today in what could be a good practice round for the Masters. Mike triumphed with 38 points after a solid round. The Ryder cup table is looking close now with Ade still playing solidly.
