The Captain picked a beautiful course and a sunny day for the event which was attended by 12 members.
Played over the first 9 holes and dodging the car driving across one of the fairways, Jason, Ian the Captain and President managed to win the event on a back 2 count back!
Ian also managed to win the nearest the pin on the 9th.
The Captain and his double partner Graham lead the field off with a doubles match against Jason and John (which they lost!). The initial drive off the first tee was met with great excitement from the President who won the bet on the length – 212 yards.
Frank won the day with an excellent 67 despite or perhaps because of the intervention of the gods of golf knocking his ball back in from the woods on several occasions. However his new putting style appears to be paying off big style now!
Nearest the Pins: Jason Frank Ian Ade*2

In an epic match play competition
Graham & PGA Paul beat The Captain and the President by one hole, at Houghwood in the heat of the day.

Light winds, sunny and warm, but lots of trees and some mixed golf resulted in another win for Graham, despite Jason playing the first last – to squeeze a controversial second place.

In very hot conditions the society made its way around Runcorn. The Hell of the 17th killed off the President’s hopes and the Heaven of the 18th nearly resulted in a hole in one for John Shearn.
