Luckily for Jason, his crappy golf did not stop his team retaining the RC trophy with a 2.5 – 1.5 victory. Some defeats for the normally strong Jason and Graham and Frank helped the bookies :-). Results are;
Paul Morrissy gets his first point ever in the RC. Jason overtakes Graham at the top with Graham’s lack of points in 2022. Mr Kelsey fails to further his limp record whilst Frank keeps up his good record.
Jason takes it to 10 years of Ryder Cup triumph with one of the best team performances ever. Only new kid on the block Eric managed to take anything from the game for the rest of the world with a well battled half against Frank. Full results for the day are;
For the 4th time in 5 years, Ade is the top of the ryder cup table. If only Pete could have managed more rounds this year he may have picked up the big RC table prize….
Despite missing the first game of the year, Pete takes his normal position at the top of the Ryder cup table. 4 players are within a few thousand points, so it is looking close at the start of the year after the first major. RC Table here.
The first ryder cup table is seeing the old stalwarts stuck at the top. Ade and Paul are sitting at the top of the tree after a very steady start. See the full Table at RC Table
A slightly cut down Ryder Cup this year due to Covid, but a good match all the same. Following the RoW team being a man down, Marconi generously loaned out on form matchplay doubles king Frank Sherlock, and whilst Frank won his game, along with Graham Copsey, the overall result of a draw meant that Marconi retained the trophy and Jason extends his unbeaten record as Captain to 9 years, going for an unprecedented decathon in 2022.
The results for Lease in 2022 (Marconi team first) are;
Jason Beat Paul Morrissy 6/5
Vic lost to Frank S 4/3
Ade beat Paul K 2/1
Frank B lost to Graham 3/2
The overall Ryder Cup records table sees Frank S move in to the top 4.
Some great scores at Upton with Pete going round in almost par. Others continued the great form they are showing and their handicaps are slowly sneaking down. Graham is still leading the ryder cup table, but Ade and Pete are showing solid form to chase him down.
Frank beat Graham and Paul beat Ray in the golf singles following John’s narrow defeat of Jason last week. Some big four ball match play in the next week, with the show group of Jason and John playing against Pete and Frank. Tickets nearly sold out
After 25 years, the longest serving and 2nd grumpiest member of the golf society has broken his duck and won a major. The giddy winner was Graham Copsey, and well done. A great round on a tough course. 2nd was newbie Colin, and 3rd (or second if you ignore Colin) was Frank who is again the master’s nearly man again.
