Sherlocks take control….

We always knew it would happen, but following a great performance by the Blues Brothers at Helsby, Frank has taken up the number 1 position in the Ryder Cup table. His great performance just wasn’t enough though to be the SMXIXHGS Master as brother Pete beat him on a back 9 count back.

See here for the RC table, and here for the full set of Masters results. Pete’s NTP gained him an extra bag of points.

Sorry !!

Sorry to those that turned up today at Woolton – for the rubbish weather. Howling gale and rain. No wonder the first group got around in 2:45…..

See here for the results and here for the latest ryder cup table.

First Game of 2015

We rediscovered Eccleston Park today. A bit nippy but the greens were excellent, and whilst there were a few wet patches around, it was in better nick than the other courses we have played over winter. Jason played the best golf, and even with a fresh air putt (it was 30 yards!), he will have dented his handicap with 39 points. For the full results, see here, and for the first issue of the Ryder Cup table this year, see here……. Will the reds be rampant again this year?

Ryder Cup 2014 – Resoundingly RED

With Pete scouring Everton for some real true Blues, the reds were a very worried bunch. The golf of the reds though was very much different. Some excellent scores – Graham only 1 over for the first 5 holes and Pete only 8 over for 18, and Jason only 11 over for 18. Overall, there were 3 resounding victories and only Frank managed to get a half as the Reds ran out 4.5 – 0.5 victors.

Pete Lyons beat Dave Fell 7/6

Graham Copsey beat Pete Sherlock 2/1

Jason Moss beat Jeff Sherlock 7/5

Adrian Levin beat Paul Morrisey 7/6

John Shearn halved with Frank Sherlock

Captain’s Day 2014

Thank’s to everyone that turned up for Captain’s Day at Formby Hall. Whilst there was some pretty dodgy golf, there was also some sparkling golf, with Ian Crook deserving to retain the trophy with a great round. We also chose next year’s Captain, and this will be Graham Copsey. The results for today are below.

A new master is in town.

We managed to get 8 people for the Masters at Runcorn, and with a course in great nick and lovely weather, there was no excuse for poor golf. In the end it was a tight bunch, with 5 players being on 74 or 75. In the end, Jason squeezed past Frank by only a single shot. See here for the full table, and here for the current Ryder Cup table. At the moment, Jason has a big lead, mainly due to him playing in each round more than the quality of his golf !
